Sam Barron

Born in Darlington in northeast England. Sam spent years travelling US and Europe by bicycle before joining the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineer. During this time he was lucky to sail around the world visiting many countries such as South Africa, Brazil, South Georgia and even the most remote island in the world, Tristan de Cuna. He saw lots of whales, kayaked through Norwegian Fjords and saw northern lights at sea near Iceland.

Having met hisnow wife on the ship, they left together and travelled for 2 years around the world backpacking through India, Japan, Southeast Asia, OZ, New Zealand, and the USA where he dived with whale sharks in Borneo, paraglided off Nepalese mountains, travelled India top to bottom by train, watched sunrise on Mt Fuji, hiked to bottom of Grand Canyon for a swim and much more!

He now lives in Darlington with his wife and two dogs (who also enjoy coming to the office with Sam sometimes!). Sam love’s to spend all spare time exploring in the campervan, trail running, studying for a degree in environmental science and adventuring.

Sam recently took his first Northern Lights Holiday with the Aurora Zone and he had an epic time! He thoroughly enjoyed the snowmobile and husky safari’s along with learning more about the local culture and meeting some reindeer too! Sam even did an ice dip in the frozen lake at Jeris – truly not for the faint-hearted! Most enjoyable of all though was seeing a fantastic Northern Lights display!
