The remaining balance after payment of the initial deposit will be divided into two equal payments. The first payment will be due 24 weeks prior to departure and the second payment will be due 16 weeks prior to departure. The due dates and amounts for all payments will be shown on your confirmation invoice.
If you are travelling within 24 weeks of departure, the first of these two balance payments will be payable at the time of booking, together with any deposit due. If you are travelling within 16 weeks of departure, the full remaining balance will be payable at the time of booking.
If we do not receive any payment due in full and on time, we are entitled to assume that you wish to cancel your booking. In this case, we will be entitled to retain any deposit paid and to apply the cancellation charges set out in clause 7.2, as applicable. If we do not cancel your booking immediately because you have promised to make payment, you must pay the applicable cancellation charges shown in clause 7.2, depending on the date we reasonably treat your booking as cancelled.
Depending on the type of airfares or tickets being purchased, it may be necessary for us to take payment in full for your flights or other tickets at the time of booking. This will be discussed with you prior to booking and will be included in your holiday quotation. Where such flights or tickets are non-refundable, this will be clearly stated in your holiday quotation and/or the applicable terms and conditions. Any payment taken for flights or other tickets at the time of booking will be treated as part of your deposit for the purposes of our cancellation terms, unless otherwise stated in your holiday quotation.
You may cancel your confirmed holiday booking at any time prior to departure. Should you need to do so, the party leader must immediately advise us in writing. Your notice of cancellation will only be effective when it is received in writing by us.
As we incur costs from the time we confirm your booking and may be unable to re-sell your holiday, the following cancellation charges will be payable. In calculating these cancellation charges, we have taken account of possible cost savings and the generation of income from other bookings which may be able to utilise cancelled services, to the extent this is likely to be achievable.
Where the cancellation charge is shown as a percentage, this is calculated on the basis of the total cost payable by the person(s) cancelling, excluding any amendment or cancellation charges which have already been incurred.
Amendment and cancellation charges are not refundable in the event of the person(s) to whom they apply subsequently cancelling. Depending on the reason for cancellation, you may be able to reclaim these cancellation charges (less any applicable excess) under the terms of your insurance policy. Claims must be made directly to the insurance company concerned.
The cancellation charge applicable will depend on the date on which we receive your written notification of cancellation, as follows:
More than 24 weeks prior to departure – Loss of deposit, including the full cost of any flights or other services which have been paid for at the time of booking and are stated to be non-refundable.
Between 24 weeks and 16 weeks prior to departure – Loss of deposit only. Any additional payments made towards your holiday after the original deposit, including the first balance payment due at 24 weeks prior to departure, will be refunded, subject to any non-refundable costs or cancellation charges which have already been incurred.
Between 16 weeks and 43 days prior to departure – 50% of the total holiday cost.
42 to 15 days prior to departure – 75% of the total holiday cost.
14 days or less prior to departure – 100% of the total holiday cost.
Where the cancellation charge is less than the amount already paid by you at the time of cancellation, the difference will be refunded to you. Where the amount already paid is less than the applicable cancellation charge, you will remain liable for the difference.
These are our standard cancellation terms. If the holiday you are booking has different cancellation terms, these will be detailed in the Additional Info/terms section on the specific holiday web page and will also be highlighted in your holiday quotation. Any cancellation terms detailed in your holiday quotation will supersede those mentioned here.
