Saija Lodge
| |||||||
Delightfully located on the shores of Lake Jokijarvi, Saija Lodge offers guests a genuine sense of peace and quiet in the remote wilderness of Northeast Finland. The lakeside location also offers astounding views of snow-covered fells and the Northern skies. Crafted completely from wood, Saija Lodge has a traditional, homely and comforting feel. A roaring fire and candlelight set the tone. This ambience is coupled with welcoming staff, wonderful home-cooked food and plenty of space for unwinding after activities (as well as your own private sauna!) All in all, it is the ideal location to really escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and serves as an excellent base for a winter holiday. Hotel facilities

Apartments
The accommodation at Saija is based in what are called ‘apartments’ but we think of them more like a suite. They are located in numerous traditional wooden buildings which are close to the main lodge and vary in style (some are duplex, others single storey etc). Each varies in size but offers a bedroom (with space for two extra beds in the living room), TV, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, fridge and microwave. The real luxury though is having your own private sauna, such a special way to relax at the end of an adventurous day.
Harjajarvi Wilderness Cabin
For trips including an overnight husky safari, one night will be spent at Harjajarvi Wilderness Cabin, where you can experience real adventure and escapism. This is a very remote site with no electricity or running water. There is no shower here, but this is Finland, so you can enjoy the sauna! Once everyone has helped set up camp and the fire lit, you will experience an unforgettable evening. Everyone will chip in with helping prepare food, and your guide will cook your evening meal over the Getting away from the trappings of the mode.
Sky Cabins
Saija offers two sky cabins which sit on the lakeshore, just 100m from the main building. They offer a wonderful option for those who may want to upgrade for one night of their stay (you retain your primary accommodation too) and spend the night under the stars, and hopefully the Aurora. The bed in these cosy cabins is situated directly under a glass roof, offering amazing views from the comfort of your duvet. They have an en-suite and private sauna, as well as kitchenette, microwave and kettle. You can still access the WiFi here too.
