Nestled on the shores of Lake Rukajärvi, in beautiful woodland, and away from light pollution, the glass villas in Iisakki Village give you the unbelievable opportunity to look for the Northern Lights from the comfort of your bed. Thanks to its wilderness surroundings, dark skies, and panoramic glass walls and ceilings, every night of your three-night stay will see you in a prime Aurora viewing position.
Though we're sure you could quite happily stay in your glass villa, we've also included two winter activities to maximise your time in Finland. You'll be introduced to snowmobiling as you learn how to drive along snowy trails in serious style. Next, you'll learn how to walk in snowshoes to silently move through the night in search of the sensational Northern Lights. Each activity will be led by our expert local guides who will tell you more about Finland and the magic of the Aurora.
We've also left some time for you to customise your trip to suit you. Speak to our Travel Experts for everything on offer such as husky sledding and a sauna tour. You'll also be close to the fantastic ski resort in Ruka for a variety of downhill ski runs in beautiful Finnish surroundings.

Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kuusamo airport, you will be met and transferred approximately 30 minutes to the Iisakkii Glass Village, just outside of Ruka,
After checking into your private glass villa, dinner will be served in one of the nearby restaurants which are all a short walk from your accommodation.
Before bed, we recommend taking a walk to the lake – an ideal Aurora vantage point. Of course, your glass villa also gives you the opportunity to see the Northern Lights from the comfort of your bed.

Today, following breakfast, you’ll meet your local guide to learn how to snowmobile. You’ll get a solid introduction to how to manoeuvre and ride your snowmobile before setting off on a journey through the Finnish wilderness. For this activity, you will be provided winter clothing (overall, shoes, gloves)
Nevertheless, we recommend that you bring with you a warm thermal layer as well as an extra pair of clothes to wear under the provided activity winter clothing.
Following this exhilarating activity, you’ll have time to relax and enjoy dinner before heading out on your Northern Lights tour tonight. You’ll meet with your guide who will show you how to fit your snowshoes, which will help you walk over the deep snow with ease. For this activity, you will be provided winter clothing (overall, shoes, gloves)
You’ll walk into the wilderness and away from any light pollution to ensure you give yourself the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Your guide will tell you stories about the Aurora as you keep an eye on the dark sky where, hopefully, the green lights will begin to dance.

Today, following breakfast, it’s unfortunately time for your winter adventure to come to an end.
You’ll be transferred to the airport for your return flight home. If you have an early flight, we’ll box up breakfast for you.

This beautiful complex of glass villas is located on the shore of Lake Rukajärvi in an idyllic and peaceful natural setting.
A large window and glass roof in the villa offers a spectacular view of the surrounding nature and its natural wonders, such as the Northern Lights.
The curtains can be closed if you’d like privacy, and you can enjoy the room’s beautiful interior.
Featuring a double bed for two people, a kitchenette, a toilet and a shower, the villa has everything you’d need for a memorable stay.
Sauna access is available for an additional fee.
