Itinerary
After a hearty breakfast, you’ll venture out into the wintry forest scenery where snow blankets the landscape and frost-kissed trees shimmer in the light. A morning of snowshoeing awaits! Your guide will lead you through the pristine trails and share with you their knowledge of the local nature and wildlife. Take a seat by the open fire with a mug of warm berry juice and campfire treats as your guide explains the basics of how to survive life in challenging Arctic conditions.
Back at the hotel, you can enjoy a soup lunch and take some time to relax. Curl up with a good book or visit the hotel’s sauna.
Prepare for an evening of adventure as you search for the Northern Lights whilst driving your own snowmobile. Your expert guide will deliver a safety briefing and instructions of how to drive your snowmobile before setting out through the forests and over the magical frozen river. Once everyone is confident how to navigate their vehicle, you will drive 30km into the darkness to escape the city’s light pollution. Along the way, there will be opportunities to stop and take photos (hopefully of a spectacular Aurora display!) The excursion will last approximately 4 hours.
Please note, you will travel two per snowmobile with the option to swap drivers however, you must be at least 18 years old and hold a full driving licence to drive a snowmobile. If you wish to drive solo, please speak with our Travel Experts as a supplement will be incurred.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Huskies are synonymous with Lapland and today, you’ll get to meet your very own team of dogs. For centuries, dog sleds have been a reliable method of transportation in the Arctic, used by hunters, fishermen, and later by the post office, police, and border guards in tough conditions. Before setting off, your guide will teach you how to steer the sled. On this exciting adventure, you’ll drive your own husky sled through untouched forests. Finnish treats and heartwarming stories about the endearing huskies by the open fire will make your day even more delightful. After meeting the huskies, you’ll understand why they’re among the most beloved animals of the north! Including transfers, the trip will last approximately 3.5 hours and will take place in either the morning or the afternoon leaving you free time throughout the day to spend as you please. A soup lunch will be served either before or after your husky safari.
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
