Upon arriving at Keflavik Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel accommodation with FlyBus. The bus stop is located right outside the terminal area and the driver will greet you there. Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to explore Reykjavik city centre. Many of the main attractions are within easy walking distance and a plethora of stylish restaurants and bars perch along the idyllic harbourside.

After a wholesome breakfast, prepare for a day of culture, history and discovery. Firstly, you’ll head to FlyOver Iceland; a must-do activity when visiting Reykjavik. FlyOver Iceland is a top tourist attraction with motion seating and a wraparound screen, simulating a flight over majestic mountains and breath-taking glaciers. Using state-of-the-art technology, FlyOver Iceland will take you on an exhilarating journey through the country’s wondrous landscape. Engage all of your senses as the film is enhanced with a dramatic musical score, special effects such as wind, mist and scents. 

Around the corner, you’ll find your next stop, Whales of Iceland. This interactive museum exhibits twenty-three life sized models of the various whale species found in Icelandic waters. Each model was sculpted after an actual individual in the wild and features the whales’ personal markings and characteristics. Get up close to a?gigantic blue whale, a fascinating sperm whale and the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale. There’s so much for the whole family to see and do, including catching a showing of the award-winning documentary Sonic Sea shown on a large cinema screen. Expect ambient lighting, soothing whale sounds and to come away having gained a deep insight into these enchanting creatures!

Later today, you and your family will experience an exciting journey through volcanology in Iceland at the high-tech Lava Show. Explore the exhibition halls and use the interactive displays at the Lava Show to discover the immense and complex natural forces that form the Earth and began to create Iceland tens of millions of years ago.

Sadly, it’s time to bid goodbye to Iceland as your getaway comes to an end. Following breakfast, you will transfer back to the airport via the scheduled FlyBus shuttle.
