Established in February 2023 by father-daughter team, Eero and Kristiina, Kurula's has already gained a reputation for its beautiful location and exceptional service. Drawing inspiration from the surroundings, the architects have masterfully crafted the accommodation to respect and showcase its environment. As an illustration, consider Lohkare, the resort's lakeside sauna, meticulously carved from wood and boasting panoramic views. The exquisite design of this masterpiece takes inspiration from the stunning Luosto amethyst gems.
The beauty of booking a tailor made trip means that you can cherry pick activities to suit your interests and your ideal pace of holiday. Must-do activities include a Northern Lights hunt, a husky safari and snowmobiling! Kurula's offer two excursions to visit the nearby Amethyst Mine; a unique insight into the fascinating history of Lampivaar's geology. There are plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in Nordic life with activities such as snowshoeing, Nordic walking, cross-country skiing and ice-fishing.
Itinerary
Upon reaching the airport, your assigned driver will meet you at the arrivals area and accompany you to Kurula’s. Complimentary snacks and bottled water will be provided during the journey. If you desire, your driver can make a brief stop at a grocery store for any additional food and drinks you may wish to purchase for your suite. It’s worth noting that tap water in Finland is safe to drink. Once you arrive at the resort, you’ll have time to settle into your suite before enjoying a delightful evening meal at the hotel. The main lodge houses 17 Premium Suites all of which offer magnificent views of the lake and fells. Kurula’s Resort is meticulously crafted with a deep respect for nature. Seamlessly integrated into the surrounding forest, this eco-conscious retreat harnesses the natural power of geothermal energy sourced from the nearby lake for its heating needs, embodying sustainability at its core.
Each of the spacious suites has a queen size bed in the main room with a view to the lake. There is a second queen size bed in the separate bedroom and in family premium suites, the second bedroom houses a bunk bed. It is possible for some rooms to be configured into a twin room, please notify our Travel Experts at the time of booking if you would prefer this set up.
All suites feature their own sauna, bathroom and toilet, an open kitchen equipped with a fridge, hob, oven and microwave, lounge area with Smart TV, wardrobe, drying cabinet and either a deck or balcony overlooking the lake and fells.
