Unfortunately, we are yet to come across Aurora Huskies that can sense when the Northern Lights will appear! However, if we ever do come across them, then you will be the first to know.

Although these huskies might not be real, we are always looking for ways to develop our holidays – here are a few of our favourite things you can do on an Aurora Zone holiday.

Reindeer Safari

A wonderful way to experience the vast wilderness of Finnish Lapland is on a Reindeer Safari. There are over 500,000 reindeers in Lapland, they are naturally placid animals, but they have a great curiosity and are perfectly adapted for the Scandanavian winters. A reindeer sleigh ride is at a much more relaxed pace than a husky safari and is a great way to reminisce about Christmas and childhood memories associated with the season.

Aurora Domes

Located in Finland at Lake Torassieppi and Jeris, the Aurora Domes offer a unique way to see the Northern Lights from the comfort of your own domes. Located in remote locations, right in the heart of the Aurora Zone, these are large, insulated tent-like pods that are perfectly customised for the environment. With large double beds that offer a vantage point, you can even view the Aurora Borealis from your own bed!

Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling is the fastest and most cost-effective way for the native people to travel around the wilderness of northern Scandinavia, enabling remote communities to connect more easily. They are also incredibly fun to ride and therefore are a remarkable thing to add to your Northern Lights holiday. Travelling on them at night, chasing the Aurora, allows you to witness the unforgettable shapes and sights of the winter landscape in a completely unusual way. You must be over 18 years old to drive one and hold a full driving licence.

ICEHOTEL®

The ICEHOTEL® is one of them places that everyone seems to know about and there is a good chance that you know someone who has been. We get asked about this accommodation so often and it is still a bucket list experience for a lot of people. The ICEHOTEL® is the world’s first Ice Hotel and is reconstructed each season with a different theme each year. Much more than being a hotel, this is also a piece of art and is something you must consider ahead of your next Northern Lights holiday.
