We have the science and pictures to prove that autumn delivers just as many Northern Lights displays as winter, if not more, so off-peak really doesn’t mean off-target when it comes to the Auroras. What’s more, this time of year offers much milder temperatures, typically clearer skies and a stunning landscape to explore.
As the shoulder season, we know that not everyone plans a holiday at this time of year, which is why we offer short breaks that allow you to experience a bucket list holiday in just a few days.
Here are top short breaks for autumn 2019:
Wilderness Hotel Inari – Autumn Lights Over Lake Inari – 4 nights
Lake Inari is Finland’s third largest lake and its huge surface area provides an expansive and beautiful area for Northern Lights hunting. As night draws in, you’ll visit the Aurora Camps situated on the lake shore where if conditions are favourable, you could see the Northern Lights reflect on the waters below.
The daylight hours are all about new skills and wonderful experiences. Discover the science behind the Northern Lights during a presentation and immerse yourself in the culture of the region with a visit to the Sámi Siida Museum. You’ll also see more of the stunning autumnal landscape during a nature walk in the surrounding wilderness.
